Saturday's brother situation

Right after enjoying one of the best Fridays I ever had, I had planned a night-out with the brothers!

Since we had August's special Zoom Latin Fever party at Zebra, my pals offered me a table to enjoy the whole evening, and who else would I invite...? Only the brothers of course!

It was just one of those nights. One of those where, you don't decide but, you just let everything happen and get completely crazy!

Although I came late, since I was enjoying a very nice late afternoon with Patricia, we all met at our place, drinking vodka and having loads of fun already. I really let myself loose this evening, so before leaving to the club I already had a lot of drinking.

Then we went to Zebra, where my pals from Barefoot Events had everything ready for us (thanks guys!!!). Later Jucelia showed up, even though she was still recovering from last night. Also Marjolein, who was beautiful as ever, graced us with her presence! And another person who I enjoyed seeing there was Anne-Marie, beautiful and sweet as always.

I love going out with the brothers, we all share a lot of things in common. We all are wild, we all think almost (yes, almost, after all we are not twins ok?) the same, we all love to get crazy, and we all want to enjoy the most we can at parties.

Specially for me, being confortable with my friends at a party organized by my group, it is a pleasure beyond any other (except really good sex). ;-)

And if this wasn't enough to make me happy, I also got an extra surprise when suddenly Navie was also at the party! She is this beautiful girl (yeah I know, both are beautiful, but I'm talking about the one on the left) who works at The Mansion and also likes to have fun! And she is really so sweet... of course I had to take a photo of us (which is now one of my favourite photos!). :-)

Oh my... the Zoom parties are my party-crib. The place where I know I'll enjoy for sure, and I know I can be confortable and let loose... just come to one of them and you'll see what I mean... ;-)

Best Friday

Last Friday I had one of the most fun evenings of them all. Nothing planned in advance, my friend Robbert told me his girlfriend Maike and a friend of her, Nienke, were coming into Amsterdam to go out, have some fun, and Maike (which I've met already before) thought of me.

So sweet of her. I remembered from previous evenings that she's a great dancer and someone really fun to be around with, so I said to Robbert I'd do my best to make sure they would have fun :-)

But suddenly I saw myself having my name on two different guestlists for the same evening, with them. Not only we were in the guestlist of "Que Pasa" (with my friend DJ Eduardo), but also at "Zoo" (with Don Diablo)!

Maaike and Nynke

The evening then just went completely wild, wild, wild!!! We started at "Que Pasa", where we danced to the amazing latin rythms of DJ Eduardo, and even met one of the guys from K-Liber. I immediately felt in good company with these girls, because they danced like I've rarely before seen anyone dancing! Crazy, sexy, irresistible and beautiful!

Maike and Nienke

Then, after a while, we went to Zebra, to the Zoo party. There we met with my beautiful friends Jucelia and Patty, and also with Don Diablo! I really like his music, he makes me jump like crazy! I had again the pleasure to dance with Maike and Nienke all the time (sometimes also with Jucelia and Patty, which is another delightful pleasure!), and felt really good to be around girls who are there just to have fun, fun, fun! (Maike dancing sexy at the pole, while Nienke was hugging me from behind and making me move wildly to the music, is a memory I'll always keep close).

I felt really good, being adopted by two gorgeous girls... Maike and Nienke: damn! When do I get to go out with you again? :-)

The joys of being unemployed!

(Update: due to some confusion I needed to state here that I'm NOT unemployed, neither thinking of becoming unemployed!)

All of us, for once at our lifetime, have been in an unemployment situation.

Although, after the initial shock, it sounds good having free time, it is really tough to suddenly have all the days available for whatever you want. If with savings you can still enjoy the first weeks, but most of us just try hard to find another job... after all, sooner or later we have to continue paying the bills and that's not easy to accomplish without an income.

Indeed, what usually happens is that we end up falling into a depression state, not finding an easy way out, and blaming all things possible for our own unhappiness. Myself, I must admit that I got really depressed the last time I was unemployed (more then 3 years ago)!

Unfortunately, one of my best friends is going through this phase at the moment... luckily, Marie-Chantale Turgeon, who is an artist, publishes the first ever blog I got in contact with and inspired me to write my own, has made a sketch of "The joys of being unemployed" (click for a bigger version).

If I had this when I was unemployed, I'd print and post it on a visible place I could see every day for inspiration.

And that's my advice if you are in such a situation... :-)

Paulo's eBuddy

It makes me feel really happy to see my friends success!

I still remember a few years ago when Paulo created this little tool that allowed him to chat anytime and anywhere using the MSN Messenger network on his own PDA or cellular phone. I think he didn't expect what was coming back then.... suddenly he had a few thousand visitors every day downloading his tool to use themselves.

I still remember when he started spending money on a few more servers to be able to sustain all those users, and we discussed ideas on how to make the whole system more stable, resiliant and web-based. Suddenly, this little app turned into what it is now eBuddy, a whole web-based messaging platform, used by half-million people every single day!

When going to their offices, there I'm known as the co-creator because I was the one who initially gave Paulo the idea of "maybe" make the thing profitable by having banners... this is nowadays funny, because actually that is how their business model works... although I don't get any direct advantage from "being" the co-creator I end up taking advantage of Paulo's fortunate life (besides being able to watch TV every day on a huge HD screen at home, besides other things I also have the pleasure to know how it feels to have a Vespa and travel with it around the city!).

So it is really cool nowadays, looking back at how the whole thing started, to go to special conferences and find out that one of the main sponsors is Paulo's company, like it happened a few weeks ago!

And today I find, in one of my favourite tech/web blogs (actually one of the most important blogs of them all) that their own party (which is completely booked!) has, among others, the sponsoring of Paulo's eBuddy!!!

Paulo: I feel proud for you dude! RESPECT!

My name is on the list: another success!

This weekend we had the 4th Edition of My name is on the List, in Club NL, and it was such a success! The club was completely packed with beautiful people, dancing to latin and deep house until the end! And I can say that I was in good company also...

When the lights went on, no one wanted to leave, and the bouncer was forced to come inside and politely ask everyone to exit. Even outside, 30 minutes later, there were still small groups having their last laughs before going home. This is the kind of mood I like to see around me, where people are indeed feeling good and happy, evaporating positive energy around!

It was only a shame that my brothers were not around... they all went this weekend to Budapest, Hungary. That is the city where I experienced the best club I've ever been in my life! Although they had no idea about it, call it a coincidence or destiny, there was happening in town one of the biggest festival in Europe! Lucky bastards! Paulo can give you a better impression of everything.

This week should be light (although with a lot of work), in preparation for a nice weekend of fun! We have "Waste Of Time vs. Barefoot" party in Bloemendaal (a nice beach near Amsterdam) on Friday, and a special Zoom Latin Fever at Zebra on Saturday! Can't wait for the weekend to come... not only because of these events but also because of something else... but only the ones who see me this weekend will know about it... ;-)

Gay Pride Parade 2006 at Amsterdam

Last weekend was Gay Pride Parade day and, as last year was simply unforgetable, I couldn't let this one slide away: I went with my friends to the Chemistry party again, at the Amstelveld, to enjoy some real fun! And what a day it was!

We started by meeting at the Waterlooplein with all the brothers, just drinking some beers and waiting for the time when the party would start, while watching the whole parade (this area was like the downtown of all the canals, the place where all boats have to pass by as a tradition).

Later also Rebecca, my sweet colleague who has recently become a nice friend, came to join us. We all then went to Amstelveld, since the party was already starting and a bunch of other groups we know were there already.

Again, we had a lot of fun at this party! It was completely crowded, with people dancing everywhere to the tunes of the finest DJs (where DJ Victor Coral was simply outstanding!)... I can only say that IT WAS CRAZY!!!! What a party!

At the end I was completely tired, (although it was early at night, but remember we started early as well!) but no one could take off the smile in my face. It was really cool and fun to spend a day with your friends and colleagues at such an event (some even were a surprise, we just met there by coincidence). Another Gay Pride Parade to never forget!

Back 2 Biz

So, after being lazy for some weeks, at the last ones I've been busy with a bunch of stuff.

I think I don't have to announce the new design of my blog, you are looking at it already and (hopefully) noticed the difference! Hope you like it. Comments/suggestions are always welcome !

I also uploaded tons of new photo material of the last parties I've been doing with Barefoot, as well as other events. You can check them yourself (click on the titles to browse the complete party gallery):

About me

"I'd seen the light. It was this glaringly obvious blind realization, like pure truth! And it wasn't about anyone in particular, but about people in general. I realized (...) there is no such thing as THE one... It's more about mind-bogling whole hell of a lot of potential ones. Although that should be conforting, it's actually pretty terrifying. We'd all have to kick back and wait for some magical force to show us who we should spend the rest of our lifes with. But the truth is... there isn't a lightning-bolt that slaps you on the ass and tells you to pick this person over all others! If anything... it's like the rain. Rain falls all the time... sometimes you're prepared for it, sometimes you're not. Independent where you are when it hits, you either get caught in it or you don't. (In fact, most of us usually try like hell to avoid it.) You might miss the bus, you might catch the bus. Maybe you remembered your umbrella, maybe you didn't. No big science. Just random torrential bursts of opportunity. And that's the most fate can do. The rest... is up to us!"
