Hectic!

Oh my... just got home from work, Suzy is coming in one hour or so, we have to meet with my sweet and dearest Lenny and Eef (they are going to see Mattafix tonight live at Bitterzoet!), then we are going to drink with Rodrigo at a bar nearby, afterwards we need to stop by at Zebra because tonight is Soraya's birthday, and finally we will head to Melkweg for "Que Pasa?" to meet with friends, where I will dance until I cannot stand anymore!

This is getting crazy. I don't even know how Suzy can stand me with so much things to do (ehr... hope she doesn't read this before meeting me, she doesn't know yet about all these... arghh!).

Naturally, I hope to take a LOT of pictures! Check back later for the outcome of another wild night-out! ;-)

Dear Lucy Lee

I'd like to thank you, Lucy Lee, for bringing me so much fun!

DJs Goodgrip and Mea Culpa must have been competing for some prize, because they totally ruled! Ana, as always, was an amazing company to dance and have some good laughs! And I have to apologize to Barry for hugging his wife! Ooops! What a crazy night...!

Another weekend coming

Yes... another weekend is about to start. I wanted to go easy, or let's say easier, but there is already somethings lined up... well, more fun ahead right?

Anyway, today I had the pleasure of having lunch with part of the Canon Europe's Party Core. As always, it was a lot of fun! And it's nice to know they are not only are aware but also are making plans for my upcoming party in April. It's definitely going to be exciting!

Later today I'll also meet with Suzy, who I haven't seen for a few days and already miss her as if it has been a whole month! I'll also meet with a friend for some drinks at night, but that's not sure yet. Let's see how the days goes.

Have to work a lot this afternoon, so check back later (I think I'll start trying out my new phone to update the blog on-the-fly... it will be interesting to check that...).

Team complete again!

I normally don't post about my work (specially because I don't know, have really to find out, Canon Europe's position on blogging).

But the fact is that the team where I work is now complete, since Rebecca came back from her long trip to Thailand. As other friends of mine, she also came back completely in love with the country! Click here for her photo galleries.

Rebecca is back

Besides working in the same team as me, she also does nice psychedelic jewelry (mostly to sell at parties). You might see her at big dance events in Amsterdam. Welcome back, Becka!

Sleepy... really sleepy!

Yesterday I could not stay awake at home, was feeling really tired and needed some hours of sleep before being able to do anything useful!

Today, woke up feeling much better, but with this sense of having lost a complete day yesterday.

Specially with my dear Suzy, who sent me some e-mails and must me worried with my lack of replies. Don't worry, my Suzy, even sleepy I missed you the first moment I woke up...

Today started with a sad clouded sky, and I'm looking to find some good mood around, somewhere. I need to smile!

The official Valentine's day

Oh my...

After so many years, finally I was able to spend the Valentine's evening with my girlfriend. And I say evening because in fact most of us work at day, so actually we only spend it with our loved ones at night, right?

In fact, somehow throughout all these years, either I didn't had a girlfriend at this famous date or, unfortunately, she was far away. So, I really wanted this first time to be special.

I spent the whole day at the office nagging everyone about their plans (I still don't know how can they work when I'm around, I'm always messing up with everyone!), and telling them to prepare something special for their loved ones, since IT IS Valentine's day and at least tonight that's what they should be doing!

At the end of the day I came home all excited, took a long hot shower and dressed up for my Suzy... I met her at Central Station, and she had no idea what would happen tonight since I was keen on everything to be a surprise.

We went to "De Portugees", what I consider to be the best portuguese restaurant in Amsterdam (in food and service), where I had reserved a nice romantic table. Suzy was the only one that didn't knew there was a huge flower arrangement waiting at the basement of the restaurant, I wanted to suprise her later with it. Also new to her was this restaurant, as she never went there before.

We had a combination of almost all starters they have (I really wanted her to try everything that the portuguese cuisine has to offer there), and ate fish and gambas. Needless to say, everything was beautifully cooked and served, a true delight!

To go with it, we actually took care of one and and half bottles of Rose wine, which made us feel a bit warm inside already, and scared to stand up to feel the wine turning the restaurant around our heads! ;-)

At the end I pretended to go to the toilet, just to come up with the flowers... gee, you should see her face... she had no clue! Her smile showed me how good this surprise felt to her... and her smile is already always so cute!

Another surprise was that we had a Valentine's party to go afterwards! But first we headed off to my apartment to leave the flowers... Suzy then offered me her present: a really beautiful complete Turkish tea service! Damn, she knew I needed this, but she had to make it even more special... I really liked it, tricky Suzy :D

We then went to the party, which was being held at Club NL by my pals from Barefoot Events. It was the first time I went to this club, and have been anxious about it since I've planned to come there for weeks already! The club is really beautiful and trendy, with nice staff that kept on bringing us shot after shot, the whole night!

A curious detail: at the entrance we had to chose which ribbon to use on our wrist. Red-ribbon meant "taken", green-ribbon meant "free!" and yellow-ribbon meant "Taken but might consider..." (eheheh, beautiful idea guys!)

The DJs playing were also awsom, and we danced like crazy! The party was really crowded and everyone was really happy, dancing and drinking. At a certain point I lost control of myself, I just got loose and enjoyed everything without thinking, so much alcohol was running in my veins (I know... "shame on you, Vitor")!

And poor Suzanne, I got her drunk also... but we had a lot of fun! Oh, yes, we did!

The official Valentine's day (evening!) was truly special.. my first and (I'm sure) the best I could ever wish for! The best!

The unofficial Valentine's day

This weekend was truly relaxing, as I planned. Even better, it was amazing thanks to my sweet Suzanne, who spent it with me...

Saturday we decided to go for a walk, looking for a nice place to drink a warm afternoon coffee. We searched several places, but were not that lucky... still, the walk was refreshing.

After a while I remembered the juicy Irish-coffees that they have at Tapas Cafe Me Gusta, which belongs to friends of mine. As always, they were enthusiastic and cozy, they always know how to treat every customer in a way the customer will feel like coming back, and soon! These guys are awsom, and you should visit them. Besides nice meals, they have the second best Irish-coffee I know (the first, of course, is my own!).

Me and Suzy were sitting in a nice cozy table, and the guys decided that me and her looked so cute that we should have a special candle... we could not resist, being there was so nice that we stayed long, ordered a delicious portuguese cod-fish and drinked some Rose wine...

The environment was so beautiful between us, that I considered this our very own, not planned, unofficial Valentine's day...

... everything is always so special when Suzy is around... so special that I can honestly say, with experience, that Valentine's day is everyday we want it to be...

Lucy Lee ... gets me crazyyy !

Yesterday night I finally met with Robert Feelgood and Suki to discuss some ideas! These two guys are awsom, their ideas are over the top! Pretty soon, I'll be able to write about what we are planning to do, but for now I can only tell you that something amazing is coming... pretty soon... ;)

Robert and Suki

Afterwards, we headed to a cocktail bar where we met with more people. I was basically waiting for my sweetheart, but with these guys I never feel bored! When finally Suzy arrived (with two cousins), I went with the girls to Sky Sports to drink some special shots prepared by my friend Paulo. These shots are always the best way to start an evening, and only he can make them!

The perfect evening start!

Now, with the stomach warmed up, we went to Zebra where Goodgrip was playing already. The best part: he played urban music but included some Reaggeton, which is rare to be played at Zebra but he knows I love it! Oh, do I have good news: when I asked him, Goodgrip immediately accepted to play at my birthday party! I could not believe it! Also tonight, Robert Feelgood and Timothy Watt were brilliant spinning the records, their mixes were perfect for my mood, and I could not stop rolling over my feet!

Also, dancing with these girls was exciting! Suzy's cousins are ideal to go out, as I'm finding out the more I meet more of them! There were lots of guys around us, of course trying to get lucky, but I was the one with the honor of dancing with all of them... ai ai ai!

There were some crazy moments, like the guys who though I was from Morocco and, despite several attempts to convince them I was from Portugal, they ended up offering me another shot! Ouch! There was even a moment where two hot girls, which were constantly being surrounded by sharks, sat down at the couch and started kissing each other... grabbing the camera really quickly I HAD to take a snapshot!

Yes, those are two girls kissing... ;)

This night, although short since it was a weekday, was amazing! And I cannot get tired of saying how much do I like to be with Suzy. She's a really sweet and cool woman, who lets me be myself and trusts me. And another plus is the fact that we cannot stop being glued to each other!

There's a song I used to hear when I was around 19, by a non-famous portuguese rock band called Joker, which chorus I couldn't stop singing, and it went like this:

"Little suzyyyyy...
I wanna be with you every night!
... and every day!
Little suzy, babyyyyy
...I want to hold you
...baby, 'till the end of time!"

This weekend I'm not going out as I've been having too much fun lately. I promised myself I would go easier this year, so I have to make a better effort to achieve that. I'll spend the weekend with a warm and beautiful company, to recover energy for next week (and next weekend, which will be full of fun!). Check out this site later for the updates... and don't be shy to leave a comment he!

Having an amazing time,
Vitor

Paulo's trip

Paulo, my best friend, has been gone for some days already. The bastard went to Portugal for some days, just to go then to Brazil! I'm a bit curious to see his stories while he blogs from there (hope he finds time to blog, because I'm sure he's going to have a blast down there by the sunny beach and its carnival!)

Here's his "mY bLoG".

Have fun bro! ;-)

Dinner at Suzy's

I'm about to have dinner at Suzy's place, and am blogging from her Macintosh! So cool that I can do this from anywhere I go.

But the really cool part is smelling her cookings coming from the kitchen (where she forbid me from going in), while listening to her singing... can't wait to share a glass of Italian red wine with her while tasting her cooking skills ;-)

I'm going now to disturb her a bit... then we're having dinner... then we might enjoy a nice evening... who knows ;-)

Tot later!

Saturday part 3 - BED party at Arena !

Although Saturday was a messy day, it kind had a nice ending. I can only say: Wow! Wow! Wow!

I went alone to Arena, and my dearest friend Claudia had put me on the guestlist. After a quick walk around, I managed to find Goodgrip just before he started MCing in one of the dance rooms. I really like this guy, he is also a DJ and I wish he could play at my next birthday party (I'm actually going to invite him, who knows...).

Me with Goodgrip

As I didn't know anyone besides the people working or playing there, initially felt I would not be able to enjoy the party... boy, was I wrong! Claudia told me about this Spanish friend of hers, Ana, who is a crazy party girl and was also alone there. Of course, thanks to Claudia I met Ana not much later and really could see why Claudia liked her so much!

Me with Ana

Ana is this kind of girl who likes a party but just wants to enjoy it at its fullness, instead of being like any other girl there who is just trying to find a guy! Exactly the same attitude as me, although it is nice to meet other people I can't understand why it all has to be about flirting... I just want to have fun dancing! Immediately me and Ana felt confortable with each other and danced a lot together (oh boy, she can dance also!).

MC Knowledge !

But an amazing thing happened while dancing at the main dance room: Knowledge (a good portuguese friend of mine) was MCing there, and he surprised me by saying my name several times at the microphone, for the whole dance floor to listen, while pointing at me! I'm not like that, but felt like a star!

After some double shots of tequilla with Ana, when we came back to the dance floor, Knowledge called us to go to the stage and be there with him and the DJs. So cool! Dancing at the dance floor from the stage is something else, a new experience! Besides confortable, I don't know how many women smiled or winked one eye at me trying to flirt! Even though I was dancing with Ana! This kind of attitude, although flattering, is a bit distasteful... why do I get so many flirting invitations just because I'm at the stage? I mean, I'm still the same as I was at the normal dance floor! Gee...!

A bit later, Knowledge took us backstage! There we got the pleasure of looking at Ana's tatoos (beautiful!), and also at Knowledge's (so so cool!). When coming back to the stage to dance a bit more, Claudia joined us which was also awsom! I wish Claudia could have more time free, I really feel good when she's around!

Afterwards, we danced until the end of the evening, like crazy! You should check the photo album to understand really how amazing it was! This was one of the best parties I've been at, thanks to a nice company, amazing music and a good vibe!

Saturday part 2 - Sara's farewell party

I cannot even say how much regret I have for not being able to go to this party.

As I didn't had my phone for the whole weekend (so, no way to contact anyone there), and since I left Patricia's dinner really late (after midnight!), at the taxi I decided that probably was not a good idea to pass by at Sara's party, at this time they would have already left to a bar or something, and if they were at home I don't think she'd be happy to know that I was only going to be there sometime as I had another party at Arena. I really regret this decision (UPDATE: later I found out they were still at her place, and on Monday I saw that she tried to call me on my phone at 01:00 A.M.!).

Sara is a sweet pretty Italian girl who has always been there at the parties I go to. She likes to have fun, and she does have loads of it! Sometimes she even showed up by surprise at some clubs where I was. This farewell party was due to the fact that she is moving back to Italy on Sunday... I wish I could have told her that I'm actually going to miss her!

(from left to right) Caterina, Emma and Sara!

Sara, if you read this, hope you have a nice time in Italy, and although you won't think about us much in the beginning, please don't forget your friends here in Amsterdam. And if you come back, I'll arrange some celebration! Baci!

Saturday part 1 - Dinner at Patricia's

The whole weekend, specially Saturday, was really messy, as I didn't had my cellular phone with me! I had three appointments for the evening, and no telephone numbers available nor could I be contacted! :(

During the day was actually nice, as I spent it with Suzanne. I now know that spending anytime with her is the perfect recipe to feel happy about everything! When together we are always glued to each other, she's a magnet that I cannot (and won't try) to get apart from! She had already dinner plans, so at the end of the afternoon, and only after a long time, she went to Anne-Marie's for a joyful dinner event with other friends.

Myself, I was invited to have dinner at Patricia's. She is this beautiful sweet brazilian girl, with a heart made of butter, that I really enjoy to be with. As I didn't had her number (due to leaving my phone at the office) had to look up my computer to see if it was somewhere, and actually found it at an old e-mail (pufff!).

Me with Patricia (October 16, 2005)

She gave me the directions, but as I was late I took a taxi instead. Naturally, after the taxi (still don't remember why I didn't ask to go straight to her place), I got completely lost. Only after almost 30 minutes walking around, I found the building.

The dinner was really good, this girl knows how to cook with excellence! Also present were some of her friends, and the whole dinner was really nice, talking about Brazil, Portugal, Holland and laughing a lot! But the highlight was this super-criminal-but-super-delicious dessert made of icecream, cream-balls and melted chocolate! Uhhhmmmmmmm! What a treat! Have to say: thank you Patty! This was really sweet!

Canon Europe 2006 Kick-off party!

What a nice start of the weekend!

Friday afternoon I had to leave work rushing not to be late for the Kick-off party, and I ended up forgetting my cellular phone at the office. You can't imagine (I couldn't also, until now) how dependent I am on this small thing! Actually, only this weekend I realized that, without it I could not do anything I had planned to do!

Anyway, my Friday night started with sweet Suzy coming to my place, and we headed off to the Okura Hotel (one of the nicest and most famous hotels in Amsterdam). At the entrance, still outside the Hotel, there was a 3-man band playing, dressed in colourful comic clothing. When crossing the entrance door, there was a men dressed like the Johnny Walker guy but in full black-and-white.

When going inside, it was amazing to see so many colleagues, with their partners, all ready to enjoy a fun evening! Since I knew a lot of them, it was messy at the beginning, saying hi to everyone while seeing at a glance more and more known colleagues, everyone looking fabulous! It was also really cute to introduce Suzanne to all of them... she is this kind of amazing woman who immediately talks with everyone and feels confortable doing that! I didn't had to worry at all with her, I noticed she was also having fun herself!

After the speech start, we had sushi and a lot of delicious things to try, warm and cold, all tasting like "I want more!". Also, the desserts were criminal! This Hotel really provided a one-of-a-kind service, congrats to the chefs and the team that was able to serve us all drinks the whole evening!

Another nice memory was to see so many people dancing! Gee... these were my colleagues, that I always see seriously concerned about their tasks at the office, now here at the dance floor dancing with their arms up, turning around, screaming the lyrics with the band...!

The party was scheduled to be over at 00:30, so afterwards me and Suzy went to Que Pasa, to meet up with Robert and Nic (two basketball players who make me look really short). It was also a lot of fun! Dj Eduardo always smashing at the table, making everyone circle on their feet!

What a night, what a start of a beautiful weekend! And I had my Suzy all the way with me... thank you dear, thank you for sharing these moments with me, you are unforgetable!

Smile! It's Friday!

At work, I always smile.
I smile everyday!

But I smile
specially when it's a Friday.

And I smile
when there's a company party happening later at one of Amsterdam's best hotels.

And I also smile
when that party will be followed by my favourite latin party "Que Pasa?".

But I also smile
when I know I'll be with Suzanne.

I smile
specially when I know I'll be with Suzanne...

(a full "report" will follow this weekend) ;)

Reflections

All reflections are blurry.
More blurry then the real image.

So, reflecting on life,
we should focus on the most important details.

Probably that's why I'm singing at the office.
That's why I'm smiling at colleagues.
And that's why I'm happy at the snow outside.

Because I have good memories.
(or, I chose to only focus at those).

Or because I'm building more good memories.

So, thank you stars!

(and thank you for your Sundays)

About me

"I'd seen the light. It was this glaringly obvious blind realization, like pure truth! And it wasn't about anyone in particular, but about people in general. I realized (...) there is no such thing as THE one... It's more about mind-bogling whole hell of a lot of potential ones. Although that should be conforting, it's actually pretty terrifying. We'd all have to kick back and wait for some magical force to show us who we should spend the rest of our lifes with. But the truth is... there isn't a lightning-bolt that slaps you on the ass and tells you to pick this person over all others! If anything... it's like the rain. Rain falls all the time... sometimes you're prepared for it, sometimes you're not. Independent where you are when it hits, you either get caught in it or you don't. (In fact, most of us usually try like hell to avoid it.) You might miss the bus, you might catch the bus. Maybe you remembered your umbrella, maybe you didn't. No big science. Just random torrential bursts of opportunity. And that's the most fate can do. The rest... is up to us!"
