Ehr!!! What's up, Doc?

This last weekend I decided to do something extravagant (at least to me): I stayed at home!

Having all these events going on, and always a lot of people willing to go out and have a lot of fun, calling me every weekend... although it gives me a good feeling, it also makes me forget about resting. Can't remember the last time I stayed in on a Saturday (I think it was with Suzy, mid-March), so while resting at home I had conflicting feelings.

Nevertheless, it was the best thing I could have done. A weekend of rest has made me more aware of my surroundings and better equipped to start a new week. Only my colleagues know I have to apply more efforts at the office, big projects are about to start and we still have small tasks to finish before then.

Also, besides work, I'll be busy this week and the next one setting up the "my name is on the list" party at Club NL. It is finally coming at the 27th of this month, and hopefully this second edition will be as successful as last time!

Besides all that, other things have been going on:
  • I finally moved the last box from the old apartment to the new one (thanks Pedro and Claudia for the help!). Nothing more relates me with the old place. I will miss it a lot, but living in this new apartment has been great and promises a lot of unforgettable memories.
  • I still don't have internet at the new place. UPC has, as always, messed up. Besides not showing up at the agreed time, they never called me back again. After waiting a week, I finally called them to find that all the services with me were canceled! (what the f...!). At least that means I'm getting a new contract, which is cheaper although with the same services, and actually it is more simple to execute then moving. Trust me on this, if you move to a new place and you are a customer of UPC, it is better to cancel your current affairs with them and get a new contract! Faster and cheaper, what more can you ask for? I even took the opportunity to sneak in Digital Television with the new contract!
  • Paulo, who is enjoying a really nice period of his life but I cannot talk about it, finally got crazy and just bought a new Vespa! I went this weekend with him to make him company while choosing which model/color/extras... it should be delivered in 2 to 3 weeks, and will be surely fun to see him moving around the city with his new ride!
  • Suzy, after some interesting experiences in Belo Horizonte, is now at Salvador where I'm sure she'll have an amazing time. I miss her really bad, but want her happy with all she's doing so I'm crossing my fingers so that everything goes as, or better then, her expectations.
  • Rodrigo, Paulo and Gledison, my crazy party-partners , are going to Poland next week. Too bad I cannot join them, this trip sounds promising! They will leave me here alone, so I have to find interesting things to do... oh well, there will be for sure :-)
  • My father is coming in the beginning of June for two weeks. Although we can only get along for a couple of days, I haven't seen him for some time already so I trust it will be good to be with him again (I'll try not to argue with him much this time, but we all know how hard that is sometimes!).
  • My sweet nephew Lucas is about to be one year old, and I'm sad to say that I'm not able to be with him then! I haven't been with him yet, and am missing all his early days... hopefully I'll be able to visit him in July or August, as I cannot delay this anymore!
  • I planned a trip to the Black Sea with Rodrigo (and maybe Paulo will join us), in August. We are going to enjoy a nice sun at Odessa, while looking at the sea with our sunglasses and drinking cocktails, and have fun at what Rodrigo describes as the city where he experienced the best parties ever in his life (and if Rodrigo says something like that, it must be true!).

For now, this is it... I'm going to work a bit more, and hopefully get out of the office in time to enjoy the beautiful weather that Amsterdam has been giving us for the last week (which they say will change tomorrow, unfortunately).

Remember, keeping your smile and a positive attitude will surround you, and everyone you meet, with positive energy! And most of the times, this is the only thing you need to enjoy one of those days where everything "coincidently" goes alright :-)

About me

"I'd seen the light. It was this glaringly obvious blind realization, like pure truth! And it wasn't about anyone in particular, but about people in general. I realized (...) there is no such thing as THE one... It's more about mind-bogling whole hell of a lot of potential ones. Although that should be conforting, it's actually pretty terrifying. We'd all have to kick back and wait for some magical force to show us who we should spend the rest of our lifes with. But the truth is... there isn't a lightning-bolt that slaps you on the ass and tells you to pick this person over all others! If anything... it's like the rain. Rain falls all the time... sometimes you're prepared for it, sometimes you're not. Independent where you are when it hits, you either get caught in it or you don't. (In fact, most of us usually try like hell to avoid it.) You might miss the bus, you might catch the bus. Maybe you remembered your umbrella, maybe you didn't. No big science. Just random torrential bursts of opportunity. And that's the most fate can do. The rest... is up to us!"
